I love you like kudzu –
antediluvian, ardent growth.
Running, I enter its cretaceous musk,
an arching hollow, a green cathedral.
This consuming life brings me desire.
O, to see it in nightfall –
To stand secluded in this chapel.
We would strip ourselves naked and lay in earth,
awake covered by these leaves.
Walls of living ancient form –
a verdant womb below the mountains,
I found you by a thin path down Stringer’s Ridge
(let me not forget)
and when I return fulfilled in love,
with her I will share my joy in you.
