It’s been at least 10 years, I think, since I regularly blogged. A few years ago, I tried Tumblr, but found it too limiting. Prior to that, I blogged on a site called Covblogs for many years – but when Covblogs eventually disappeared, it took my blog with it.
I hope to use this site both to record my current thoughts in a medium less evanescent than a Facebook post, as well as to share writings and blog posts from my past.
I am self-consciously adopting for this blog the same title that my very first blog in college had, 14 years ago – “Out of Egypt: Halfway to the Promised Land”. This title refers to the state of all Christians here on this earth, freed by God from the land of slavery but not yet fully free from sin and in His presence. I hope that my reflections on here will show what it is like to live within this tension.
